Autonom group, founded by brothers Marius and Dan Stefan, has launched a new ride hailing service on Bucharest market, called Blue, in the wake of a EUR5 million total investment.

Blue Air announced that the company's shareholders had been contacted by representatives of the Authority for State Assets Management (AAAS) to hand over 75% in the airline to the Romanian government.

Romanian government via the Authority for State Assets Management will take over 75% in Blue Air, becoming the majority shareholder of the airline.

Blue Air reports 180% more passengers transported vs last year and also 22% more passengers to/from Romania have travelled with the airline in April 2022 versus pre-pandemic 2019. Romanian airline Blue Air will be operating 17 weekly flights towards five destinations in Greece this summer, namely, from capital Bucharest to Athens, Heraklion, Rhodes, Mykonos and Zakynthos and from Bacau to Athens.
