Romania's Competition Council has approved the transaction through which Smart ID Dynamics SA intends to acquire AB Systems (Adaptive Barcoding Systems) SRL.

Smart ID Technology, with the support of private equity fund SARMIS Capital, announces the signing of an agreement to acquire a majority stake in AB Systems SRL, a leader in the production of durable barcode labels and smart RFID label solutions for the automotive, logistics, and retail industries.

Software and hardware provider Smart ID Dynamics in 2023 registered an annual 10% turnover decline, to RON103.6 million (EUR20.8 million).

Smart ID Dynamics, a provider of software and hardware solutions has fully acquired Brasov-based provider of integrated software solutions Spectrum, which has over 20 years of experience in providing software, hardware and post-implementation support solutions, the company said in a release.

Private equity fund Sarmis Capital, established two years ago by several Romanian executives, has announced its second transaction on the local market by acquiring the majority stake in Smart ID Dynamics, a provider of software and hardware solutions, with a turnover above RON85 million in 2021.

SARMIS Capital, the largest private equity fund dedicated to Romania and neighboring countries, acquired the majority stake in Smart ID Dynamics, a market-leading Romanian automation company.
