  • Texas lawmaker behind state’s crypto reserve bill: Ether may be next
    Cointelegraph.com - 19:50 Oct 10, 2025
The cryptocurrency with the second-largest market cap was on its way to meeting requirements under Texas' crypto reserve law until a price drop on Friday. This year, Texas’ legislature passed a law to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve in the state, opening the door for other cryptocurrencies in the future. According to the original sponsor of the bill, Ether could be the next reserve asset. Speaking to Cointelegraph on Thursday, Texas state Senator Charles Schwertner discussed the implementation of the Bitcoin (BTC) reserve bill signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in June. Though the text of the bill allows Texas to hold other cryptocurrencies in a “special fund outside the state treasury,” Bitcoin was the only one to meet the requirements at the time of passage. “I’m really interested to see the speed at which they establish the reserve and how it acts from a returns standpoint,” said Schwertner. ”If Ethereum maintains its market cap over 24 months, I think it’s reasonable and prudent to give directi...

  • Korean retail capital driving Ether price, treasury demand: Samson Mow
    Cointelegraph.com - 13:46 Oct 06, 2025
South Korean retail investors are becoming a significant driver of Ether’s growing value, alongside global institutional investors and corporate treasuries, Mow said. South Korean retail investor capital is fueling Ether’s price momentum and the rise of corporate Ether treasury firms, according to industry insiders, as the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency trades just 7% below its all-time high. The “only thing” keeping the Ether (ETH) price and Ether treasury companies at their current levels is about $6 billion worth of Korean retail capital, according to Samson Mow, CEO of Bitcoin technology company Jan3. “ETH influencers have been flying to South Korea just to market to retail. These investors have zero idea about the ETHBTC chart and think they’re buying the next Strategy play,” said Mow in a Monday X post, warning that this “won’t end well.” Read more

Onchain data from Arkham Intelligence showed Grayscale transferred more than 40,000 Ether (ETH) on Thursday, activity consistent with positioning for staking rewards. Arkham noted that if confirmed, Grayscale would be the first US Ethereum ETF sponsor to stake its holdings. • Ether vs. Bitcoin treasuries: Which strategy is winning in 2025?
    Cointelegraph.com - 11:25 Sep 11, 2025
Which treasury strategy is gaining ground in 2025: Bitcoin as digital gold or Ether as a yield engine? In recent years, companies and countries have increasingly included cryptocurrencies in their treasury strategies. Traditionally, corporate treasuries relied on cash, gold or government bonds to maintain value, ensure liquidity and provide financial stability. Governments had gold reserves to back their currencies. However, cash loses purchasing power. Bonds carry rate and duration risk. Foreign exchange shocks hit balance sheets without warning. Ideally, you want a reserve that holds value, moves fast across borders and plugs into digital rails. That is why Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and, in some cases, stablecoins now sit beside cash, gold and T-bills. Read more

  • Crypto ETFs log outflows as Ether funds shed $912M: Report
    Cointelegraph.com - 17:18 Sep 08, 2025
Despite signs of cooling demand, crypto inflows in 2025 are outpacing last year’s, indicating that “sentiment is intact,” according to CoinShares. Publicly traded crypto investment products saw a decline in flows in early September, with weekly trading volumes sliding by 27%, according to CoinShares data. Lower trading volume pushed crypto funds to post $352 million in outflows over the past week, despite a positive outlook for riskier assets following a weak US jobs report and a potential cut interest rates in the US. According to CoinShares analysis, the slower activity was pushed by Ether (ETH) products and suggests mainstream investors’ falling demand for cryptocurrencies. “Trading volumes fell 27% week on week, this in combination with minor outflows suggests the appetite for digital asset has cooled a little.” Read more
