Chainlink has partnered with NYSE-parent Intercontinental Exchange to integrate forex and precious metals data from ICE’s Consolidated Feed into Chainlink Data Streams. Blockchain oracle platform Chainlink partnered with the US-based Fortune 500 company Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) to bring foreign exchange and precious metals data onchain. Chainlink announced Monday that the collaboration will bring ICE’s Consolidated Feed, which aggregates market data from over 300 global exchanges and marketplaces, to the derived data sets that power Chainlink Data Streams. According to Chainlink, these feeds support over 2,000 decentralized applications (DApps) and major financial institutions to provide market information necessary to operate in tokenized environments. Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov said the Chainlink Runtime Environment could be as transformative as the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov said the recently launched Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) may have a transformative effect on the blockchain industry like that of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). In a YouTube video published on Monday by Chainlink, Nazarov said the CRE “can have the same impact that the EVM had on the blockchain industry.” The EVM, introduced by Ethereum, enabled Turing-complete smart contracts, which reduced development time to weeks from months by allowing developers to use loops and state-based operations, capabilities unavailable in Bitcoin Script. Nazarov said the smart contract development ecosystem is complex and has become a web of interconnected on- and offchain systems. Chainlink’s CRE, he said, adds a layer of abstraction that makes managing this complexity easier for developers. Read more
Institutional investors will increasingly adopt blockchain-based compliance solutions and tokenized RWAs, Chainlink’s co-founder Sergey Nazarov told Cointelegraph. Blockchain-based investment products and compliance tools are poised to become more than 10 times faster and cheaper than traditional finance (TradFi) offerings, spurring increased digital asset adoption by financial institutions. Traditional financial compliance products are often fragmented and expensive due to complex manual processes, resulting in billions of dollars in costs. “Compliance is an inefficient part of the traditional finance industry that a lot of people are not happy about, including identity verification of AML and KYC,” Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov told Cointelegraph during the RWA Summit 2025 in Cannes. The new compliance solution may cut billions in compliance costs for institutions looking to invest in the crypto economy. Chainlink, a decentralized blockchain oracle network for crosschain communication, launched a compliance framework aimed at unlocking over $100 trillion worth of institutional investor capital for the cryptocurrency space. The decentralized oracle network announced the release of its Automated Compliance Engine (ACE) on Monday. The system provides a modular and standardized framework for managing regulatory compliance across both traditional and decentralized finance (DeFi) systems. Chainlink said the new standard will allow the creation of compliance-focused digital assets and services across public and private blockchain networks, including reusable digital identities, automated policy enforcement, crosschain compliant digital asset settlement and regulated asset usage in DeFi. The integration comes with help from several Web3 companies, whose technologies offer a compliant user experience. Chainlink, a company that provides a decentralized oracle network, has partnered with payments provider Mastercard to allow the credit card company’s three billion cardholders to buy crypto onchain. The integration could spur crypto adoption by providing a new avenue for people without Web3 exposure to gain experience with digital assets. The integration is made possible through a series of partnerships with Web3 entities, including Shift4 Payments, Swapper Finance, XSwap and ZeroHash, a crypto and stablecoins infrastructure company that will provide the onchain service and liquidity enabling customers to convert fiat currency to crypto. “The current version of the application available at Swapper Finance is non-custodial and leverages account abstraction to provide users with simplicity and control,” a Chainlink Labs spokesperson told Cointelegraph. “It was important that this solution was built...
Chainlink, JPMorgan’s Kinexys, and Ondo Finance completed a crosschain DvP settlement between a permissioned payment network and a public RWA blockchain. Chainlink, JPMorgan’s Kinexys and Ondo Finance completed a “first-of-its-kind” crosschain delivery versus payment (DvP) settlement between a permissioned payment network and a public testnet. The test involved Kinexys Digital Payments, a permissioned network operated by JPMorgan and Ondo Chain’s testnet, which is focused on real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, Chainlink said in a Thursday announcement. The settlement was coordinated using Chainlink’s Runtime Environment (CRE), an offchain compute layer designed for interoperable financial systems. At the center of the transaction was OUSG, Ondo’s tokenized US Treasurys fund, which was exchanged for payment via Kinexys’ platform. Read more
The study involving Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol is one of many initiatives exploring use cases for a potential Hong Kong CBDC, or e-HKD. The Hong Kong government is partnering with Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to test cross-border transactions between permissioned and permissionless blockchains, as well as settlements using different types of digital assets. The partnership is part of Phase Two of Hong Kong’s central bank digital currency (CBDC) initiative. According to a report from payments company Visa, the initiative will involve a hypothetical Australian investor who wishes to purchase a tokenized asset in Hong Kong. After requesting the purchase in a stablecoin pegged to Australia’s currency, the transaction will be routed via interactions across multiple blockchains. Finally, the purchased asset finds its way into the investor’s wallet, denominated in Hong Kong’s CBDC. Chainlink’s CCIP plays a role in the communication between different blockchains. Acc...
Chainlink recently inked deals with JP Morgan's Kinexys and Ondo Finance to develop payment rails for tokenized assets. Asset tokenization is set to accelerate the movement of capital across traditional markets, according to Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov. Speaking with Cointelegraph at Consensus 2025 in Toronto, Nazarov said the shift will boost capital velocity in asset classes such as treasuries, equities, private credit, commercial debt, and real estate. "I think that there are two sides to this equation. One is the asset, and the other one is the payment. So, you need more high-quality assets onchain, but you also need more frictionless payments that existing institutions can use easily," Nazarov said on May 14. The remarks came on the same day Chainlink announced a partnership with Kinexys, a blockchain network for institutional-grade tokenized assets by JP Morgan, and digital asset firm Ondo Finance. Together, the companies will develop payment rails for institutions trading tokenized real-world a...
